Apteco Learn Mission Schedule Time with an Apteco Architect Play with a Live System

Watch it work

Stop 44 of 58 · about 8 minutes

Once it's live, how do you know it's working? Most campaigns are judged by someone saying "I think it went well." That is not a measurement. That is a mood.

Sample charity: the people and numbers in these screens are made up, so the picture shows the tool, not a result.

The lesson

Open a campaign tile. The Overview tab shows the headlines: volumes, messages per channel and responses. For Apteco Email, click View More Details for the full breakdown, in tabs:

  • Delivered, with dates.
  • Opens and Clicks, each with a timestamp.
  • Hard Bounces: addresses that no longer exist.
  • Soft Bounces: a full inbox, try again later.
  • Blocked: rejected by the recipient's server, with the reason.
  • Spam: marked as spam by the recipient.

Tabs with no data are greyed out. Click Export to download any of them as a CSV. The Monitoring tab shows each journey step: when it ran, how many messages went out, and any errors. Drafts show nothing here until they have run.

A hard bounce is a record to fix, not a person to give up on. Someone who clicked the impact story is a person to call.

Your turn, in Orbit

  1. Open a campaign that has run, or the one you built if it has run a test.
  2. On Overview, find messages per channel, then click View More Details.
  3. Read the Opens and Clicks tab, then Hard Bounces.
  4. Open Monitoring and read one step's details.

Quick check

Where do you see who clicked, and when?
  • Overview, then View More Details, Opens and Clicks
  • The Field Guide
  • Monitoring

Answer: Overview, then View More Details, Opens and Clicks

An email came back as a hard bounce. What does it mean?
  • Their inbox was full
  • The address permanently failed, like an invalid address
  • They marked it as spam

Answer: The address permanently failed, like an invalid address

Your draft shows nothing in Monitoring. Why?
  • It's broken
  • It hasn't run yet
  • Only Admins can see it

Answer: It hasn't run yet

Need a hint?

Overview is the headlines. View More Details is the email breakdown. Monitoring is step by step.

Why it matters

See what your supporters respond to, so you can do more of it. And the clicks come back onto their record.
